Makeup and Munchies
wake, beat, bake
Hello!!! First off I want to say Happy 2018!!! This is my second year running this blog, and I am so excited to keep posting!!! For my first post, I am going to do a review on the NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner. This eyeliner is one of the easiest I have ever worked with. When I was a beginner at using makeup, I attempted using the black version of this eyeliner, and I struggled immensely with the application process. Personally, I think this eyeliner isn't beginner-friendly because the applicator wand is very long, which for a beginner, could make it extremely hard to make a straight line. However, after wearing makeup for almost four years now, I have a pretty good idea of how to compliment eyeliner to my eye shape. With a 4.5 star rating at Ulta, this proves this eyeliner is worth your six dollars and ninety-nine cents. The color selection provides versatility when it comes to doing eye looks. There are nine colors total: envy, blossom, fire, violet, escape, halo, sapphire, petal and delight. Out of the nine colors, I only own envy, blossom, and petal. I have worn envy a bunch of times and out of the many times I have worn eyeliner, I have never gotten so many compliments in one day. Envy is pigmented, easy to work with, and long-lasting. At the end of the day, I actually have trouble getting this shade off, which for me is a good thing; it shows its longevity. I have only worn blossom once, however I can tell already from that one time that I don't like it as much as envy. Blossom didn't give as much color payoff as envy; although it may have been the color eyeshadow I put it on top of. Throughout the day, I noticed it blending in with the eyeshadow color I was wearing, which for me is not the effect I was going for by wearing it. When I think of the name "vivid brights", I want the color to pop, not be dull. Compared to envy, this shade did not do the trick for me. However, I have not had the chance to test out the shade petal. I will post a little update when I do though. :) Overall, I really enjoy this product and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to brighten up their eye looks. My Rate: 9/10 Mwah!! -Shan
