Makeup and Munchies
wake, beat, bake
Hey guys!!! To start the year off, I thought I would do a review on something that I tried using towards the end of the summer: the Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer. For pretty much my whole teenage life, I have struggled to get tan from the Sun; even though I come from Italian roots on my moms side, I unfortunately have the English genes as well from my dad, which means I burn as red as a firetruck. I had a whole incident in April over Spring Break where I thought it would be smart to try and sit in the sun without sunscreen on. Let's just say that I was red and peeling for almost a whole month after that. After completely burning myself alive, I decided that I would wear sunscreen every time I step out into the burning sun. However, I still wanted to become tan somehow because every summer I leave school pale and come back pale. So one day I was at Target and I had heard about this product before, and I was skeptically that it would work, but I decided to pick it up anyway. The price of this product at Target is $8.59 and claims to "gradually create fabulous natural-looking color with a subtle skin-darkening complex." It also claims to reduce the appearance of cellulite in as little as SEVEN days, have no sunless tanner odor, and be available to all skin tones. My experience with this product surprised me. To test out the product, the first night I had it, I put it on and the next morning I was surprised with somewhat tan skin. It wasn't the darkest tan ever, but that fact that I could see something there was amazing to me. Over the next month or so, I decided to put it on every night, and my skin got pretty dark (for me of course, a pale girl, lol). The product had a pleasant smell that smelled like a lotion from Bath and Body Works. I used the shade fair to medium since I have a pretty light skin tone, but I found that this shade made my skin a little bit too orange in certain lightings. It did make my skin look darker, but I wish it hadn't made my skin look like a cheeto. Other than that though I really did enjoy this product and would recommend it to those looking for a natural and glowy looking tan. My Rating: 8.5/10 Have a great weekend!!! Mwah!! -Shan :))
