Makeup and Munchies
wake, beat, bake
Hey!! I realized this week that I literally haven't done a review since like April, so I decided that I'm going to do a review on the Jaclyn Hill collaboration with Morphe. I ordered this palette in it's first stock on the Morphe website, and frankly, it didn't personally take me that long to order it. The line I waited in only lasted for fifteen minutes, and the excitement I had for this palette was well worth the wait. The palette retails for $38.00 and is currently in restock on the Morphe website. Like all other Morphe palettes, 35 shades, ranging from bold colors like purples and blues to more natural colors, are all included in this palette, making it an extremely versatile palette. However unlike other Morphe palettes, the shades have names which are included in the packaging on a little card that promotes Jaclyn Hill. Shade names add a personal touch to the product that all the other Morphe cosmetics don't have. My experience using this palette has been nothing but great. When I swatched the palette the shadows felt a lot different than other Morphe palettes. It was not a bad different; the shadows felt like they were milled more finely, which overall made the shadows feel more smooth and less "grainy." The pigment in all the shadows lives up to Morphe's high quality reputation, and it performs extremely well on the eyes. The colors blend out beautifully, and the palette can be used to create heaps of different looks. You can definitely tell that Jaclyn took time to really create this palette. It literally even states on the Morphe website that it took her two years to finally have the finished product. The palette almost makes me feel a personal connection to Jaclyn because everytime I use the palette, I find myself pondering her color choices and why she chose the names that she did. I really enjoyed using this palette, and I think it is totally worth the money. The only complaint I have about this palette is that Morphe's standing packaging has been changed. The outside of the palette is a beautiful muted gray color, however the cardboard material that the palette is made from makes it feel flimsy and like it could break easily. If one wanted to wipe off the fallout that has gotten on the palette, any water or cleaning wipe could not be used due to the cardboard material. Overall, I fully support Jaclyn and this palette. I have been a fan of Jaclyn's for almost two years now, and I truly appreciate her passion for makeup. I think this palette is well worth the money. If you are looking for a palette that you want to be able to use for everyday looks, glam looks, or more unique looks, this is the palette for you! My Rating: 9/10 Hope y'all enjoyed the review!
