Hello!!!
I can't remember the last time I did a favorites post, so for this week's post I'm going to do one, lol. I haven't really been trying too many new products; I've mostly been sticking to my holy grails and favorites. Without further ado, here are my march favorites. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: I have literally only had this palette since September of 2017, and I've already hit pan on my favorite shade, which is burnt orange. The entire palette has a great range of colors, and I've never had an issue with blending or color payoff. I highly recommend this palette to anyone looking for an everyday makeup palette. It retails for $42.00 and is absolutely worth every penny. Anastasia Beverly Hills X Amrezy Highlighter: Online this highlighter looks like it would never match someone with as fair a skin complexion as I have, but guys I swear it does!!! I have worn this highlight on numerous occasions over the past month, and I have never noticed any fading or anything. It is pigmented, creamy, and easy to apply. It retails for $28 in stores and online. This highlight is limited edition, so get your hands on it before its gone!! L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara: Because I wear glasses, mascara can seem like a total pain to me since I already have super long eyelashes naturally. This mascara does me a great justice by separating my lashes, preventing extra crusty mascara getting on my glasses and under eye area. Pretty much all mascaras get a little crusty and flaky on me just because I wear glasses, and they constantly hit my lenses, so that is not limited to just this mascara. What I really like about this mascara is that the wand is super long, but it doesn't make a mess, and it really separates the lashes so that they don't stick together. This mascara retails for $9.99, and I highly recommend it for those of you who want to look like you've got falsies on but don't. I hope y'all enjoyed my March favorites and that you go try some of these products because I think they are so good!! Have a great weekend y'all! I'll be back after SRING BREAK!! Mwah! -Shan :)

Hello!!
For most of us, it is easy to get stuck in the same old makeup routine and never spice things up a bit. We stick with the same neutral colors for our eye looks and fail to ever step outside of our comfort zone. The whole point of makeup is that you can be artistic with it because it all comes off at the end of the day. The use of color is a good idea because it forces the user to do something more creative than what they are used to. I come up with the best eyeshadow looks when I simply just sit down and start playing with makeup. Don't be afraid to try and create bold looks because you think people will judge you. Makeup is all about self-expression and making yourself feel your very best. While neutral colors are amazing, and I myself wear them on a regular basis, it's always a good idea to spice things up every once and awhile. To help you all get started on your journey with color, I am going to include a short list of colorful products that I personally love down below. 1. NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner: $6.99 2. The Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette: $38.00 3. NYX Brights Ultimate Shadow Palette: $17.99 4. Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow: $24.00 Of course these are only four things that I love, but there are TONS of other colorful products out there that I don't own but are more than likely great quality!! Don't be afraid to work with color, it will make you a better makeup artist in the long run!! Have a great weekend!! Mwah! -Shannon :) Hello!! One thing I know I struggled with when I started doing makeup was understanding how to do the perfect winged liner. Although eyeliner is distinct to someones eye shape, there is a basic method to getting the perfect shape for your eye. Below is a picture explaining this method: If y'all have any questions about any of the steps, please feel free to use the information listed in the contact tab to ask me!! Have a great weekend!!
Mwah!! -Shannon :) Hello!!!
For many of us, routines take place everyday. From the time we wake up until the time we go to sleep, we are in a routine. When to eat, when to brush our teeth, when to take a shower are just a few of the things that people work into their daily lives and do on a consistent basis. One thing about routines is that they are different for everyone; one person may prefer to shower in the mornings, while another person may prefer to shower at night. Through all of these typical routine steps, skincare should one hundred percent be a part of everyones: no matter if they are a boy or a girl. The skin is one of the most delicate things on the human body, without it our muscles and bones would be exposed to all the germs and bacteria in our world. In terms of the skin on the face, we must take care of it if we don't want breakouts and tons of acne. Following the steps of skincare are a vital aspect in keeping your skin healthy. 1. Cleanser: use one that won't dry your skin out too much and will get out all the grit and grime from the day; if you wear makeup, take it off before this step because you don't want the makeup products to mix in with all the good stuff that helps get rid of the dirt and oil buildup on your face; this step is very important because it prevents facial pores from getting built-up with dirt and oil. 2. Toner: unfortunately most people tend to skip this step of their skincare routines because toner has a negative connotation attached to it, that it irritates the skin and can cause dry patches; however, this is simply not the case. toner is important because it acts as a delivery system for antioxidants, vitamin B derivatives, and even toning acids. be sure to use a toner that is specific to your skin type so breakouts don't occur. 3. Spot Treatment: spot treatments are used for those pesky breakouts that you can't seem to get rid of. they don't necessarily have to be apart of your everyday routine since breakouts don't typically happen every single day. they are useful because they dry up excess oil and kill bacteria in your problem spots. to ensure that the spot treatment is working, wait about five minutes after putting it on so a different product doesn't knock off the benefits of the medication from your face. 4. Serum: serum provides the very much needed vitamin c that the skin does not produce on its own. it aids in reducing fine lines and prevents wrinkles from forming in the skin. in addition, it provides an extra boost of UV ray protection. it is better to put on a serum that is thin so it doesn't clog your pores and cause more issues. if there isn't one serum that is specific to your skin needs, then apply the thinnest one first and apply upwards from there. 5. Eye Cream: eye cream should be applied every single day, if not twice a day, starting in one's early twenties. it helps in maintaining the health and thickness of the eyelid skin, which ensures that the eyelid skin doesn't lose it's laxity and its smooth appearance later on in life. choosing an eye cream with SPF or any sun protection has proven more successful than any regular eye cream without SPF. 6. Moisturizer/ Face Oil: With all of the products you just put on your face, your skin is going to be inherently dry. Moisturizer is meant to be put on before bed because moisturizer helps the skin to repair, restore, and regenerate as we sleep. This is why creams are generally thicker and heavier; they are meant to absorb over the course of many hours, which if you don't want to feel it on your face throughout the day, putting it on at night will be your best bet. Even if you have oily skin, using a moisturizer is still extremely important. For oily skin people, the moisturizer is supposed to create a protective coating on the skin to block out the harsh outside conditions and infections. Just remember to keep in mind that no matter your skin type, moisturizing is so so so important. I hope that y'all found this little skincare rant helpful because I am a strong believer in the importance of taking care of your skin. Have a great weekend!! Mwah! -Shannon :) Hey babes!!!

I'm thinking for my next post I will do my January favorites, so stay tuned for that!!! Have a great weekend!! Mwah!! -Shan :) Hello!!! First off I want to say Happy 2018!!! This is my second year running this blog, and I am so excited to keep posting!!! For my first post, I am going to do a review on the NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner. This eyeliner is one of the easiest I have ever worked with. When I was a beginner at using makeup, I attempted using the black version of this eyeliner, and I struggled immensely with the application process. Personally, I think this eyeliner isn't beginner-friendly because the applicator wand is very long, which for a beginner, could make it extremely hard to make a straight line. However, after wearing makeup for almost four years now, I have a pretty good idea of how to compliment eyeliner to my eye shape. With a 4.5 star rating at Ulta, this proves this eyeliner is worth your six dollars and ninety-nine cents. The color selection provides versatility when it comes to doing eye looks. There are nine colors total: envy, blossom, fire, violet, escape, halo, sapphire, petal and delight. Out of the nine colors, I only own envy, blossom, and petal. I have worn envy a bunch of times and out of the many times I have worn eyeliner, I have never gotten so many compliments in one day. Envy is pigmented, easy to work with, and long-lasting. At the end of the day, I actually have trouble getting this shade off, which for me is a good thing; it shows its longevity. I have only worn blossom once, however I can tell already from that one time that I don't like it as much as envy. Blossom didn't give as much color payoff as envy; although it may have been the color eyeshadow I put it on top of. Throughout the day, I noticed it blending in with the eyeshadow color I was wearing, which for me is not the effect I was going for by wearing it. When I think of the name "vivid brights", I want the color to pop, not be dull. Compared to envy, this shade did not do the trick for me. However, I have not had the chance to test out the shade petal. I will post a little update when I do though. :) Overall, I really enjoy this product and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to brighten up their eye looks. My Rate: 9/10 Mwah!! -Shan Hello!!
This weeks post is going to be a little different because I'm going to be talking about the reasons we as a society wear makeup. Makeup as a whole is used to transform one's face to look the way they want it to look. You can literally use contour to make it look like you've gotten a nose job or even use eyeliner to elongate your eyes. However, at the end of the day, why do we all wear makeup? Is it to hide our personal insecurities? Or do we wear it to feel better about ourselves? I know for myself, I wear it because it makes me feel more confident, but I don't wear it to impress other people or to get attention. To me, makeup is a form of art, and should be taken as seriously as someone who paints their art on a canvas or sculpts their art. There is no right or wrong reason to wearing makeup, but I do know that you should be wearing it for yourself, not for other people. Another topic that is very prevalent in the beauty community is the fact of "wearing too much makeup." There is no such thing as wearing too much makeup. You should wear as much as you want to satisfy yourself. You don't wear makeup for other people's enjoyment, you wear it for yourself. So if you want to cake on the makeup, then go for it. It's your face, your life, your decision; don't let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise. No matter what, we are all beautiful with and without makeup, and we should remember that it is a form of art that can help anyone stay true to themselves. Boy or girl, makeup is not just for one gender, but for anyone to enjoy. You are beautiful inside and out, never forget that. :) Mwah! Shan :) Hey babes!!
Expect some winter makeup tips coming soon!! We will be covering when to wear a red lip and when not to and all the winter trends for this year!! Hope you're looking forward to it!! Mwah! -Shan :) Hey!!
So now that September has been officially over for a hot minute, I thought I would do my monthly faves. I don't really have that many monthly faves because I didn't really get to try that many new products, but I do have a few to share with you. Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Highlighter: The Balm's Mary Loumanizer Hairspray: Herbal Essences Set Me Up Lol, that was literally it, I'm so sorry this post is so short!! I just tried a new product this morning, so hopefully my October favorites will have more stuff in it!! Have a great weekend y'all! Mwah! -Shan :) Hey!! I realized this week that I literally haven't done a review since like April, so I decided that I'm going to do a review on the Jaclyn Hill collaboration with Morphe. I ordered this palette in it's first stock on the Morphe website, and frankly, it didn't personally take me that long to order it. The line I waited in only lasted for fifteen minutes, and the excitement I had for this palette was well worth the wait. The palette retails for $38.00 and is currently in restock on the Morphe website. Like all other Morphe palettes, 35 shades, ranging from bold colors like purples and blues to more natural colors, are all included in this palette, making it an extremely versatile palette. However unlike other Morphe palettes, the shades have names which are included in the packaging on a little card that promotes Jaclyn Hill. Shade names add a personal touch to the product that all the other Morphe cosmetics don't have. My experience using this palette has been nothing but great. When I swatched the palette the shadows felt a lot different than other Morphe palettes. It was not a bad different; the shadows felt like they were milled more finely, which overall made the shadows feel more smooth and less "grainy." The pigment in all the shadows lives up to Morphe's high quality reputation, and it performs extremely well on the eyes. The colors blend out beautifully, and the palette can be used to create heaps of different looks. You can definitely tell that Jaclyn took time to really create this palette. It literally even states on the Morphe website that it took her two years to finally have the finished product. The palette almost makes me feel a personal connection to Jaclyn because everytime I use the palette, I find myself pondering her color choices and why she chose the names that she did. I really enjoyed using this palette, and I think it is totally worth the money. The only complaint I have about this palette is that Morphe's standing packaging has been changed. The outside of the palette is a beautiful muted gray color, however the cardboard material that the palette is made from makes it feel flimsy and like it could break easily. If one wanted to wipe off the fallout that has gotten on the palette, any water or cleaning wipe could not be used due to the cardboard material. Overall, I fully support Jaclyn and this palette. I have been a fan of Jaclyn's for almost two years now, and I truly appreciate her passion for makeup. I think this palette is well worth the money. If you are looking for a palette that you want to be able to use for everyday looks, glam looks, or more unique looks, this is the palette for you! My Rating: 9/10 Hope y'all enjoyed the review!
